introduction this document aims to provide comprehensive guidance for performing the fingerprint signing with the help of the startek fm220u l1 device in the mobile web browser with cdsl as the esigning service provider (esp) in both the production and pre production environment contract signing in production environment to use the fm220u l1 device to perform the fingerprint signing it should have a valid subscription you can verify the status of the subscription of the device by visiting https //www acpl in net/fm220 entry/dev sub extn aspx enter the device serial number and it will provide the status of the subscription if any help is required please drop an email to mailto\ support\@acpl ind in for further assistance prerequisites required below are the prerequisites required to perform the aadhaar based fingerprint signing in the production environment with the help of the startek fm220u l1 device 1\ apcl l1 rd service app download from the https //play google com/store/search?q=fm220+rd+service+l1\&c=apps\&hl=en in 2\ startek biometric device l1 (fm220u l1) once you have all the prerequisites, follow the steps below to set up the startek fm220u l1 device to perform the signing steps to follow step 1 connect the fm220u l1 device with the mobile device allow all the permissions that are prompted on the screen step 1 1 if no permission appears on the screen go to the mobile setting apps, search for the “ otg connection ” turn on the toggle, and allow all the permissions that are prompted on the screen step 2 after accepting the permissions, open the apcl l1 rd service app and allow all the permissions prompted on the screen step 3 once all the permissions are accepted click on the “scanner test” button to test the device before signing step 4 place your finger on the device it will detect your finger and will show a “success” message on the screen step 5 click on the three dots located at the taskbar of the app click on the “about” from the list of available options step 6 an about page will open along with the message “enable bluetooth adapter” this will automatically download the certificate that needs to be installed to perform the signing step 7 to ensure that the certificate is downloaded open the file manager app and go to downloads there you will find the certificate crt file with the name “apcl localhost crt” step 8 to install the certificate open the mobile settings app and under “password and security” go to “credential storage” under credential storage click on “install certificate from storage” and click on the “ca certificate” step 9 the confirmation page will open click on “install anyways” the mobile device will ask for the device password enter your mobile device password step 10 the interface will open to choose the certificate click on the downloads select the “apcl localhost crt” and click on “ done/install ” step 11 the confirmation message will appear stating “ca certificate installed” step 12 to ensure the certificate is installed successfully click on “view user certificate” there you will find the certificate installed step 13 navigate to the signing link sent to the signer’s email and mobile number (provided while initiating the contract) step 14 the pre verification page will open, where the user needs to perform verification using a one time otp click on the “ get otp ” button step 15 the user will receive the otp on their email and mobile number provided during contract initiation step 16 enter the otp received via email or mobile number and click on the “verify” button step 17 upon successful verification, the user will land on the contract page click on the “i want to sign” button to proceed step 18 the cdsl interface will with a screen “discovering devices, please wait’ step 19 the interface will automatically detect the startek fm220u l1 device step 20 fill in the aadhaar number tick the consent box step 21 scroll down and click on the “start capture” button step 22 the floating notification from apcl will appear on the top of the screen touch the hover notification to start scanning the finger step 23 the floating interface will appear place your finger firmly on the device the fingerprint will be automatically detected step 24 the user will be automatically redirected to the signed contract where they can see their signature affixed to it click on “done” to complete the signing process step 25 the user will see the success page and can click on the “great” button or be redirected to the success url set by the contract initiator after 5 seconds step 26 the user will receive a confirmation email with the header “confirmation of signing the document,” containing the signed contract along with the text sms step 27 once all signers have signed the contract, the user will receive another email and sms with the header “your document signing has been finalized successfully,” containing the final signed contract and the audit trail certificate
