Introduction

This document aims to provide comprehensive guidance for performing the Fingerprint signing with the help of the Startek FM220U L1 device in the Windows web browser with NSDL as the Esigning Service Provider (ESP) in both the production and pre-production environment.

Contract Signing In Production Environment

To use the FM220U L1 device to perform the fingerprint signing it should have a valid subscription. You can verify the status of the subscription of the device by visiting: https://www.acpl.in.net/fm220_entry/DEV_SUB_EXTN.aspx. Enter the device serial number and it will provide the status of the subscription.

Prerequisites Required:

Below are the prerequisites required to perform the Aadhaar-based fingerprint signing in the production environment with the help of the STARTEK FM220U L1 device.

3. STARTEK Biometric Device L1 (FM220U L1).

Once you have all the prerequisites, follow the steps below to set up the STARTEK FM220U L1 device to perform the signing.

To make the setup process for fingerprint signing easier, we have included a video tutorial in the documentation. This video offers a step-by-step guide on how to configure the fingerprint device to perform secure signings.

Steps to Follow:

Step 1: Visit https://acpl.in.net/rdservice.html and download the “Windows support Tools for L1 Device” and “Windows Certified RD Services for L1 Device”.

Step 2: Locate both the downloaded files. Double-click on the “Setup_ACPL_L1_Support” Zip file.

Step 3: Setup_ACPL_L1_Support Windows installer package will appear. Double-click on the “Setup_ACPL_L1_Support”. An administrator window will appear. Click on “Yes”.

Step 4: An ACPL L1 Support tool setup wizard will appear click the “Next” button.

Step 5: Select “Everyone”. Leave the folder location as default. Click the “Next” button.

Step 6: A confirmation window will appear. Click the “Next” button.

Step 7: The ACPL L1 Support tools for RD Service installation will start. Please wait for a few seconds.

Step 8: Once installation is complete. A confirmation popup window will appear. Click the “Close” button.

Step 9: Look for the Setup_ACPL_L1_RDservice which is downloaded. Double-click on the “Setup_ACPL_L1_RDservice”.

Step 10: A Setup_ACPL_L1_RDservice Windows installer package will appear. Double-click on the “Setup_ACPL_L1_RDservice”. An administrator window will appear. Click on the “Yes” button.

Step 11: An ACPL L1 RD Servuce setup wizard window will appear. Click the “Next” button.

Step 12: A window will appear to choose the installation folder. Leave it as a default. Select “Everyone” and click the “Next” button.

Step 13: A confirmation window will appear. Click on the “Next” button.

Step 14: The ACPL L1 RD Service installation will start. Please wait for a few seconds.

Step 15: Once installation is complete. A confirmation popup window will appear. Click the “Close” button.

Step 16: Click on the search bar on the Windows taskbar. Search for the "Services" in the system.

Step 17: Search for the ACPL L1 Registered Device. Click on “ACPL L1 Registered Device”. A side window will appear. Click on the  “Restart” the service.

Step 18: The ACPL L1 Registered Device will restart. Please wait for a few seconds.

Step 19: Once the process is completed. Insert the FM220U L1 Biometric device into the system. A message will appear at the bottom right corner of the screen stating “Device Inserted”.

Step 20: Navigate to the signing link sent to the signer’s email (provided while initiating the contract).

Step 21: The pre-verification page will open, where the user needs to perform verification using a one-time OTP. Click on the “Get OTP” button.

Step 22: The user will receive the OTP on the email provided during contract initiation.

Step 23: Enter the OTP received via email and click on the “Verify” button.

Step 24: Upon successful verification, the user will land on the contract page. Click on the “I want to sign” button to proceed.

Step 25: The NSDL interface will open. Fill in the Aadhaar Number. The device is automatically detected. Select the device “RD service for L1 provided by Access Computer (FM220U L1)”.

Step 26: Tick the consent box. Click on the “capture” button to perform the signing.

Step 27: An embedded message will be displayed. Click the “OK” button.

Step 28: An Interface will pop up on the screen “Place Your Finger” firmly on the device. The finger will be automatically captured.

Step 29: An embedded confirmation page will appear with a confirmation message stating “Finger Captured Successfully”. Click the “OK” button.

Step 30: The user will be automatically redirected to the signed contract where they can see their signature affixed to it. Click on “Done” to complete the signing process.

Step 31: The user will see the Success page and can click on the “Great” button or be redirected to the success URL set by the contract initiator after 5 seconds.

Step 32:  The user will receive a confirmation email with the header “Confirmation of signing the document,” containing the signed contract.

Step 33: Once all signers have signed the contract, the user will receive another email with the header “Your document signing has been finalized successfully,” containing the final signed contract and the Audit Trail Certificate.

Contract Signing In Pre-Production Environment

To use the FM220U L1 device to perform the fingerprint signing it should have a valid subscription.
