What is DNI ? In Argentina, DNI stands for Documento Nacional de Identidad — the country’s national identity document. It’s an official ID card issued by the government (through RENAPER). It includes your DNI number, which is the main personal identification number used across Argentina. People use it for things like banking, signing contracts, healthcare, voting (for citizens), and most official paperwork. Foreign residents can also get a DNI (“DNI para extranjeros”) once they have legal residency
