Video Verification
Video verification is a one-way video recording that is used to check the liveliness of the person. It ensures that the person who has been onboarded is a living person and not a bot. Banks/NBFCs use the video verification process for onboarding a customer to check that the customer they are onboarding is an actual living person.
The Video Verification widget is used to verify that the documents uploaded belong to the same person who is onboarding the journey. For this, we are required to choose a reference page of a document uploaded by the merchant containing his image, which the Video Verification API will use as a reference to perform the face match.
On choosing the reference page, the following happensΒ
- The Video Verification API requires us to select the image variables from the page which will be included as parameters for the face match.Β
- Now, that image will be compared to the video, and we will be getting a score based on that comparison in the Backops portal.
Choose a page containing an image for video verification.
Select the correct variable name containing the image.
- Choose Language: The language for video verification can be selected from the drop-down.
- Is gesture enabled verification needed: Single or multiple gestures can be selected by checking the checkboxes(blink, smile, yawn, left, and right). The sequence length for the selected gesture(s) can also be set. For instance, if we select Blink and Yawn and set the sequence length to five, then the merchant must blink and yawn in sequence five times to complete the verification.
- Hide Instructions: The instructions that appear on the screen during video verification are hard coded. By enabling this toggle, the instructions can be hidden and custom instructions can added to the journey by creating an instructions page.
- Hide Video Verification Header: A hard-coded header is present on the video verification page. This toggle when enabled, hides the header.
- Retake Video Option: If this toggle is enabled then the merchant has the option to either proceed with the recorded video or retake the video for the video verification process.
- OTP Required: Another option to complete the verification is by enabling OTP.Β While onboarding, a random six-digit number will be displayed to the merchant's screen that needs to be read while on video, for the merchant's authenticity to be verified.
- Custom Text: Custom text can be added in the box here.
- Custom Video Record Time: The video record time can also be customized by entering the time in the 'Custom Video Record Time' box.
- ID Verification Required: POI verification can also be enabled in the video verification if this toggle is enabled. The applicant needs to show their proof of identification to the camera.
- Hide Top Logo: The top logo is hidden when this toggle is enabled.
- Hide Footer Logo: The footer logo is hidden when this toggle is enabled.
- Color: Primary color, background color, text color, button text color, and custom color can be selected.
